Why HBF Physio? Plus, what to expect from your first consultation

Whether life has thrown you an injury, a migraine, or a stubborn stiff shoulder – a physiotherapist can be a key part of your health team, walking beside you on the road to recovery (after stretching of course.)

According to the Australian Physiotherapy Association, a physio can help repair damage, reduce stiffness and pain, increase mobility, and improve quality of life. HBF Physio exists to offer an authentic physio experience, built on trust. We have six clinics across WA, and we’re not stopping there. Finding your physio is a rewarding long-term relationship in the making – here’s why HBF Physio might be the one for you.

Why HBF Physio?

  1. A dedicated team of experts.
Our team of qualified therapists are no strangers to sore muscles – familiar faces from Life Ready clinics are ready to meet and treat you.
  2. Not just physio – there’s also Pilates, Remedial Massage and Exercise Physiology.
A true team of health and wellbeing experts has come together at HBF Physio, so you can get expert advice and treatment all in one space.
  3. Everyone is welcome, no matter your fund or circumstance.
No matter what health fund you’re with or not with, we welcome everyone to HBF Physio.
  4. We treat but we also listen.
Dealing with pain is exhausting, that’s why we listen before we lean into treatment, we want to know what you want out of your sessions, and we’ll make a tailored plan to get you there.
  5. Online appointments available.
  6. Late nights? We’re open.

What to expect from your first appointment?

HBF Physio, Jordan, says the main thing to expect from your first appointment is an in-depth assessment of your injury paired with a comprehensive treatment tailored to your specific painted goals.

A first appointment at HBF Physio might look like this:

  1. Listening to your needs to assess conditions, injuries, and concerns
  2. Working with you to set and maintain feel-better goals
  3. Developing a plan of both treatment and prevention, that will always be considerate of your lifestyle and general health
  4. Prescribing exercise, stretches, and supportive therapies tailored to your specific needs (like Pilates.)
  5. Hands-on treatment where indicated (including but not limited to soft tissue release, joint mobilisations, and dry needling)

No referral is needed to see an HBF Physio, and we’re happy to help you find a therapist that specialising in a certain area you may wish to target – whether that be women’s health or sports injury.

So our practitioners have good visual and physical access to the area you have injured, it is important that you choose appropriate clothing for your appointment. That’s why we suggest loose-fitting clothing such as gym attire, t-shirt, or shorts, though your practitioner will offer a suitable cover (such as a gown or drape) if necessary.

A quick note on GP referrals: If your GP or specialist has referred you, don’t forget to bring the referral with you as it helps our team understand your history and condition a little better. Plus, they can communicate with your referrer after your appointment about your progress.

Also, if you have any previous scans or imaging reports, bring those along too as they can offer your practitioner a clearer idea of your pain.
