How Physiotherapy at HBF Physio Butler can help you

Physiotherapy can offer a wide range of benefits, depending on the condition being treated. In general, physiotherapy can offer several benefits, including:

Relieves pain – Physiotherapy can help to reduce pain by using a variety of techniques, such as massage, heat therapy, and exercise.

Pain Relief – Your physio has an extensive tool kit to help with reducing your pain. They may use Manual Therapy techniques such as massage, mobilisations or taping. They will likely prescribe you exercises that keep you moving and educate you about what you can do yourself to help reduce your pain.

Increases mobility – Mobility relates directly to your ability to move your body in a variety of ways, this can only lead to better function, reduced pain and a better quality of life. Your physio will help you achieve this through a combination of range of motion, strength and flexibility exercises.

Prevents further injury – Through a clear understanding of how your problem began, a targeted and individualised treatment management plan and equipping you with self-management strategies, you can significantly reduce your risk of re-injury or developing new issues. You can expect this level of service from every one of our HBF Physio team.

Enhances quality of life – Through your individualised management plan you will learn invaluable skills in self-management and how to improve your day-to-day lifestyle and habits. Our Approach at HBF Physio Butler

At HBP Physio, our Butler physiotherapists work closely with clients to develop individualised treatment plans that will help them achieve their goals and become their best selves. We find this is best achieved if each of our patients receive an individualised and comprehensive treatment plan.

This is an action plan that you and your physio develop together to help you achieve your goals. Whether it is to reduce your pain, run a marathon in 3 months’ time or to be able to walk to coffee shop with your friends, our physio’s can help develop a plan for you.

During your initial physiotherapy consultation your physio will spend time getting to know you, your problem/complaint and your goals. They will then conduct an extensive assessment to help identify the main contributing factors to your problem and help you understand how you can start addressing these.

Your treatment plan will have a combination of in room interventions, exercise programs and education about what your problem is and how you can start implementing self-management strategies.

A thorough assessment of how you move, muscle strength and flexibility and your joint range of motion.

Manual therapy techniques such as:

  • Massage
  • Joint mobilisations / manipulations
  • Dry needling
  • Taping
  • Pain modulating Exercises
  • Supervised exercise
  • Education sessions so you can best understand your impairments and how to start improving these

  • Strength or mobility exercises given to you by your physio
  • Exercises for pain management
  • Exercise for improved motor control- awareness of how you are moving
  • Activity Modifications: An understanding of certain movements you should minimise or avoid until your problem settles
  • Make lifestyle changes- Your physio may suggest you try to exercise more, sleep better or move more at work.

This all depends on your problem, what the diagnosis is, how long it has been there for and most importantly how actively you implement your plan. Some musculoskeletal conditions only take 2-6 weeks to improve, where other more complex issues can take months, to years to see improvements.

Here’s our approach when it comes to an individualised treatment plan, tailored to suit your needs.

  1. Step 1
One of our experienced physiotherapists will perform a comprehensive initial assessment.
  2. Step 2
We help to relieve and manage your symptoms in one of our private treatment rooms. This may include taping, soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation, stretch and strength exercises, postural awareness, or dry needling.
  3. Step 3
We give you a personalised treatment plan, take-home strategies and education advice to show you how to manage your pain and prevent re-injury
