Hi, I'm Tomas Whyatt
Physiotherapist at Bayswater
Tomas’ journey in health care began in his own teenage years as a competitive swimmer. After developing back pain during a growth spurt, a physiotherapist helped him understand the problem clearly, and guided him back to full function. This experience sparked his love for physiotherapy and ignited a lifelong commitment to helping others reach their goals, valuing open communication, a strong rapport and meaningful, face-to-face interactions with his clients.
“I believe that education is the key to success and that there is no technique that will be truly effective unless the client understands why they are engaging in it. Get the education and goal setting right and everything else will fall in to place.”
Earning his degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), Tomas has a special interest supporting those with lower limb injuries and back and neck pain, though he also thrives on meeting people from all walks of life and helping them rebuild confidence and return to the activities they love.
Having competed nationally in swimming and now as a keen recreational runner who has completed marathons, half-Ironman events, trail races and parkruns, his athletic background adds a valuable perspective to his treatment approach. He has also has experience working with international touring teams including the Singapore Gaelic Lions, and enjoys delivering injury-prevention education to community sports clubs.
Outside of the treatment room, Tomas is happiest when he’s spending time with his two young children. You’ll also find him trail running or travelling in his downtime.
